Victorian Energy Upgrades      Victorian Energy Upgrades

VEU activities recommence on 28 October 2020

Incentives for the following activities under the VEU program will be reinstated from 28 October 2020:
- weather sealing (activity 15)
- low-flow shower roses (activity 17)
- incandescent lighting upgrades (activity 21)
- in-home display units (activity 30)

Program participants are responsible for ensuring that they have implemented a COVIDSafe Plan consistent with requirements set out for the small-scale construction industry when undertaking activities under the VEU program. Businesses must review and update their COVIDSafe Plans regularly, especially when restrictions or public health advice changes.

Please note that:
- doorknocking for sales and lead generation is not allowed anywhere in Victoria
- the Industry Restart Guidelines Small-scale Construction FAQs (PDF) allow these activities in occupied residential premises where it is possible to create a physical barrier between workers and occupants and/or the occupier can temporarily vacate the premises for duration of the works.

To review administrative requirements for accredited persons seeking to resume installations under above activities, read our
program update of 28 October for further information.

The VEU Registry is an online system that:
  • facilitates the creation, registration, transfer and surrender of Victorian energy efficiency certificates (VEECs)
  • facilitates the submission and approval of product applications for listing of products in our Register of Products
  • tracks the ownership and status of all certificates
  • maintains various public registers as required by the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Act 2007.
All VEECs must be created and registered in the VEU Registry before they can be bought, sold, traded or surrendered.

You must be a VEU account holder to manage VEEC holdings (create, transfer or surrender) or submit product applications. You must be an accredited person under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program to create VEECs.

If you do not have an account and would like to apply for one, open a new VEU account.
